Hi! My name is Lorraine Vasquez! I teach 4th grade and I started blog stalking sometime at the end of 2010 which led me to start this blog in July of 2011.

Besides being a mom, being an educator is a dream come true. I really have a passion for teaching and sharing my love of learning with others. I am blessed to be working for a great school district. My classroom is full of frogs! The frogs remind me and my students to leap into learning with excitement and enthusiasm.

I collect frogs and LOVE coffee and I am obsessed with office supplies! To relax I love to watch movies and bake. However, one of my very favorite things to do is just spend time playing with my kids. I love sports and I am a big NFL fan. During football season, on Sundays you can find me on the couch (with my cup of coffee Ü) cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers!

I have been married to my wonderful husband Greg for 25 years. He is a Bexar County Deputy but spends a lot of time at my school volunteering and mentoring.  We have two incredible children. My son, Jake, is in 12th grade. He play the bass in the school's orchestra and is involved in several clubs. My daughter, Isabella (a.k.a Bella), graduated HS in 2013, She works and she attends a community college in town.   Both my husband and I feel it is very important to be involved in our children's education and school life and hope to make a difference, in not only in our own children’s lives but every child we meet.

  1. Hi Lorraine, I found your blog because someone "pinned" it on Pinterest. I'm also a teacher and I too, love frogs! In fact I love them so much, I have a website devoted to them. Polly the Travel Frog can be used as a class project (similar to Flat Stanley), or your students can come on just to read the posts and leave comments. Please visit us if you get the chance!

  8. Mrs. Vazquez,

My sister also shares an obsession with frogs. She teaches 5th grade. Frogs have been her theme for the past 10 years of her teaching career. It's good to know she's not the only one!

    God Bless,

    Sandra Delgado :)

  9. Hi Lorraine. I found your blog through the July Currently. :) I just retired from teaching fourth grade (mostly) after 34 years and am now making teaching items on TpT full time. Love it! I have some frog themed items like a grade book planner and desk name plates that you might like if you want to hop on over and check them out. :) Hoppy 4th of July! Sorry but I couldn't resist!

  10. Hi! I was wondering if you could help me with the Currently idea. I have even bought a pack and they are jpgs that I can print but I am wondering if I could type on them. I feel that I am missing a step. Any help would be appreciated.
